About the Role

As a Financial Adviser at Octopus Legacy, you will be at the forefront of our growth, delivering holistic, financial planning-led advice to clients. You will have the autonomy to build your own client base from day one, leveraging warm leads from partnerships and the Octopus Group network. This role offers a genuine opportunity to establish a meaningful advisory practice within a high-growth startup.

Responsibilities

  • Create new business opportunities to build your own book of new clients.
  • Convert warm leads into long-term client relationships.
  • Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of prospects, tracking activity through CRM.
  • Build a referral network as your client base grows.
  • Provide holistic financial advice with a financial planning-led approach.
  • Help clients plan for retirement, investment management, estate planning, and legacy considerations.
  • Produce clear, compliant suitability reports and financial plans.
  • Stay current with regulatory requirements, product developments, and financial planning best practices.
  • Deliver exceptional client service at every touchpoint, building multi-generational relationships.
  • Conduct regular client reviews to ensure advice remains appropriate.
  • Work sensitively and empathetically with clients around life events.
  • Ensure all client interactions and records meet FCA compliance and data protection requirements.
  • Work closely with will writing, legal, and partnerships teams for a seamless client experience.
  • Contribute feedback on client needs and market insights to shape product development.
  • Represent Octopus Legacy’s values and brand in all client and external interactions.

Requirements

  • Client centric: prioritize clients, build strong relationships, pay attention to detail, and simplify processes.
  • Entrepreneurial: possess determination and innovative thinking to build a client book in a startup environment.
  • Comfortable with technology: open to learning new tools and approaches.
  • Team player: open to trying new approaches, sharing ideas, and providing constructive feedback.
  • Integrity driven: uphold the highest standards of personal and professional integrity, adhering to FCA requirements.
  • Minimum Level 4 Diploma in Financial Advice (CII, CISI or equivalent).
  • Authorised to provide regulated financial advice in the UK.
  • At least two years’ experience providing financial advice to clients.
  • Chartered status is strongly preferred, or a commitment to work towards it.
