About the Role

The Field Engineer I performs on-time and accurate preventative maintenance on medical equipment, troubleshoots and repairs equipment, and learns installation techniques from experienced engineers. This role is responsible for driving customer satisfaction through Service Excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Perform timely and accurate preventative maintenance on medical equipment to ensure optimal delivery of healthcare services.
  • Perform troubleshooting and basic service repairs on customer equipment.
  • Assist more experienced field engineers with equipment installations and complex repairs.
  • Proactively engage with team members to ensure appropriate solutions for the customer.
  • Maintain customer relationships and ensure timely communication, resolution, and follow-up.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and hospital protocols, documenting all work performed daily.
  • Partner with customers and/or sales teams to recommend value-added services.
  • Utilize the GEHC escalation process and work with support teams to resolve customer issues.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in a related field or equivalent military education and 2 years of experience servicing electronic equipment.
  • Or high school diploma/GED and 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Or a graduate of the GEHC Apprentice Program.
  • Must have and maintain a valid Driver’s License.
  • Experience with Web applications and Microsoft suite of products.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
  • Ability to be available after hours and/or work a rotating on-call schedule including weekends.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, competing priorities while maintaining customer satisfaction.
  • Willingness to be available "after hours", or work a rotating On-Call schedule, including weekends, for critical issues and coverage, as necessary.
  • Candidate must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 lbs, unassisted and frequently bend, stoop, twist, climb, crouch/squat, kneel/crawl, sit and stand for long periods of time.
  • Candidate must also be able to reach at, above and below shoulder level, flex/extend neck and have good hand and finger dexterity.
  • Specific vision abilities required include color, close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
  • Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Meet Health and Human Services, Environment Health & Safety and/or all other applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Complete all planned Quality, EHS & Compliance training.
