About the Role
McGard is seeking a highly talented and motivated Production Lead Assistant to join their dynamic team and contribute to their ongoing success in the automotive industry.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates through subordinate personnel, inspecting, assembly, and packaging of parts
- Supports the Supervisor in ensuring that all subordinates’ work is performed in accordance with specific Work Instructions, Production Work Orders, and/or additional instructional manuals/reference documents.
- Responsible to ensure that all subordinates’ work is performed in accordance with specific Work Instructions, Production Work Orders, and/or additional instructional manuals/reference documents.
- Utilizes the computer to access/print supporting documentation and for production inquiries when required.
- Coordinates that non-conforming components are removed from department as needed.
- Helps enforce the use of personal protective equipment/safety procedures regarding co-workers’ daily operation.
- Assists in the training and educating of coworkers.
- Uses department email to communicate with other departments in accordance with department needs.
- Develop and monitors departmental metrics to ensure production and production efficiency.
- Responsible for addressing any quality issues that are generated in the AOR. Coordinates corrective action.
- Perform production duties as needed.
- Communicates production concerns, equipment issues, material shortages, and quality concerns to the appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
- Supports shift handoff activities by communicating production status, priorities, and unresolved issues to incoming personnel.
- Promotes a positive team environment through effective communication, leadership by example, and employee engagement.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and orally.
- Ability to utilize computer systems to access production data, reports, work instructions, and other supporting documentation.
- Position requires individual to be capable of traveling & working throughout the entire facility, within reasonable accommodation.
Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Experience Level
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred.
- Previous lead, trainer, or supervisory experience required.
Education Level
- High school diploma or General education degree (GED).
- Associate’s degree in a related field preferred.
Salary/Compensations
- $21-26/hr (10% shift differential for 2nd shift)
