About the Role
World Relief is seeking a dedicated individual to support community engagement by fostering authentic relationships with immigrants and creating welcoming communities through volunteer onboarding and training. This role is integral to the Church and Community Engagement Department, focusing on the entire volunteer lifecycle from recruitment to recognition.
Responsibilities
- Ensure a strong and dynamic volunteer base to support service delivery and community outreach.
- Establish a comprehensive volunteer engagement plan including recruitment, training, communication, and recognition.
- Develop and implement recruitment strategies for volunteer opportunities.
- Promote and maintain a wide range of volunteer opportunities.
- Represent World Relief at events to promote volunteer opportunities.
- Maintain an efficient application and screening process for volunteers.
- Respond to volunteer inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Provide orientation and training to incoming volunteers.
- Develop and conduct training sessions for existing volunteers and provide ongoing coaching.
- Maximize the use of World Relief’s e-learning platform for volunteer development.
- Track database and manage volunteer assignments.
- Monitor volunteer assignment progress and address performance deficits.
- Guide and support volunteer staffing needs across departments.
- Coordinate volunteer communications and collaborate on marketing needs.
- Create and plan opportunities for volunteer recognition.
- Ensure follow-up and communication with designated churches and organizations.
- Develop and equip leader volunteers to support programs and engage local churches in advocacy.
- Complete regular check-ins with volunteers for encouragement and support.
- Collaborate with programs staff to create and support volunteer engagement opportunities.
- Act as a liaison between volunteers and the office to ensure staff preparedness.
- Attend departmental meetings to share volunteer input on client integration.
- Ensure timely communication between volunteers and World Relief.
- Develop an office-wide volunteer philosophy and recruitment strategy.
- Manage Volunteer Program metrics and evaluate program effectiveness.
- Provide training, coaching, and accountability to employees interacting with volunteers.
- Participate in national volunteer staff working groups.
- Represent World Relief at community events or speaking engagements outside of regular work hours.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- Mature and personal Christian faith.
- Committed to the mission, vision, and values of World Relief.
- Desire to serve and empower the Church to impact vulnerable communities.
- Able to affirm and/or acknowledge World Reliefs Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity and National Association of Evangelicals' For the Health of The Nation document.
- Valid driver's license, access to a reliable vehicle, and ability to pass MVR standards.
- Strong leadership skills to motivate and inspire a diverse group of people.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; familiarity with tailoring messaging to diverse stakeholder groups.
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple deadlines with limited supervision.
- Ability to work under pressure with flexibility in a virtual or in-person team setting.
- Excellent problem-solving and planning abilities.
- Willingness to analyze and adapt processes to better achieve goals.
- Knowledge of project management concepts, tools, and activities, requirements analysis and facilitation helpful.

- Minimum two-year commitment to the role.
- Periodic evening and weekend availability required.
