About the Role
As a Cashier, you will be at the forefront of our customer service efforts, ensuring each guest has a pleasant and efficient shopping experience. Your willingness to help guests with what they need will make a positive impact every day.
Responsibilities
- Engage in friendly conversations, make eye contact, and ensure every guest feels welcome and valued.
- Scan grocery items, process sales efficiently, and handle monetary transactions with care.
- Bag items thoughtfully to ensure products reach their destination in the condition they left our store.
- Maintain awareness of all promotions and advertisements to assist guests effectively.
- Keep your register station neat and well-stocked with necessary supplies.
- Relay guest requests to the Guest Services leadership team as needed to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Ensure all quality and quantity standards are met, especially during peak times at 10 am and 5 pm.
- Perform other duties as needed to support the team.
- Maintain regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and provide adequate notice for occasional absences.
Requirements
- Ability to engage with guests and provide outstanding retail sales and service.
- Ability to process information and merchandise transactions and handle cash and media at registers.
- Strong ability to communicate effectively with both customers and retail associate team members.
- Ability to read, count, and write accurately to ensure precise transactions.
- Ability to operate all equipment necessary to perform the job.
- Ability to stand in place for long periods of time; walk in the store; bend, stoop and kneel regularly.
- Requires fine finger and broad manual dexterity, and eye-hand-foot coordination in order to operate equipment.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and to move and handle boxes of merchandise and fixtures throughout the store, which entails lifting, and perform all functions as set forth above.
