About the Role
Flagship Lab Services is seeking a Life Science Technician II with Lab experience to join our dynamic and growing division. This intermediate level position performs routine maintenance and assists with various lab duties under supervision.
Responsibilities
- Monitor, clean, and maintain hood traps and incubators.
- Assist team with content transfers during cold storage unit failures.
- Monitor and dump waste containers.
- Prepare buffers.
- Maintain LN2 Freezer Pro and Cold Storage contact records.
- Perform glass washing and autoclaving.
- Stock and replenish clean/sterilized materials.
- Work with team to close out workspaces of former employees and prepare for new hires.
- Maintain service tickets in the lab equipment service system.
- Interface with groups and scientists to ensure service completion and documentation.
- Submit and follow through on tickets for printer issues.
- Perform general lab housekeeping, including lab clean outs and cardboard removal.
- Process all pipettes for annual calibration.
Requirements
- Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma.
- Six months prior work experience in a related work environment, illustrating good attendance, professional behavior, and reliability.
- Ability to follow orders given orally and in writing.
- Ability to complete tasks and paperwork with basic supervision.
- May require an ACTIVE driver’s license and personal vehicle.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to use hand tools and paint.
- Ability to stand, crouch, and climb to perform repairs, use a ladder, and perform various types of manual labor.
- Ability to lift to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Vision (with correction) sufficient for reading, performing repairs and painting.
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
Skills
- Computer skills (i.e., excel, word, outlook)
- Safe hazardous waste handling of bio bins/bio-waste disposal
- Cleaning and maintaining Decon equipment
- Basic knowledge of building & lab management systems
- Alarm monitoring and management
- Basic inventory and tool safety
- Monitoring automations systems
- Escort vendors and contractors
