About the Role

The Field Engineer I performs on-time and accurate preventative maintenance on medical equipment within a hospital or healthcare system. This role involves troubleshooting, basic repairs, and assisting with equipment installations, while driving customer satisfaction through Service Excellence. The position requires proactive engagement with team members and customers to ensure timely communication and resolution of issues.

Responsibilities

  • Perform timely and accurate preventative maintenance on medical equipment
  • Perform troubleshooting and basic service repairs on customer equipment
  • Assist more experienced field engineers with equipment installations and more complex repairs
  • Proactively engage with other team members to ensure appropriate solution for the customer
  • Maintain relationships with customers and ensure timely communication, resolution and proper follow up
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures and hospital protocols
  • Ensure documentation of all work performed is captured daily, including debriefing and ordering parts
  • Partner with the customer and/or the sales team to recommend value-added services
  • Utilize the GEHC escalation process, as needed, and work closely with region and national support to define and implement corrective action plans

Requirements

  • Must have and maintain a valid Driver’s License
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required
  • Ability to be available after hours and/or work a rotating on-call schedule including weekends
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, competing priorities while maintaining customer satisfaction
  • Willingness to be available "after hours", or work a rotating On-Call schedule, including weekends, for critical issues and coverage, as necessary
  • Candidate must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 lbs, unassisted
  • Candidate must frequently bend, stoop, twist, climb, crouch/squat, kneel/crawl, sit and stand for long periods of time
  • Candidate must reach at, above and below shoulder level, flex/extend neck and have good hand and finger dexterity
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job may include color, close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception
  • Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations
  • Meet Health and Human Services, Environment Health and Safety and/or all other applicable regulatory requirements
  • Complete all planned Quality, EHS & Compliance
  • Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a drug screen (as applicable)

Skills

  • Experience with Web applications
  • Experience with Microsoft suite of products
  • Technical capabilities in Ultrasound and XR
