About the Role
Fluidstack is seeking a Product Designer to own the end-to-end design of both internal and external products. This hands-on role involves embedding with product and engineering teams to shape interfaces for GPU cluster operators, AI platform engineers, and enterprise infrastructure teams. The role requires fluency in developer tools, infrastructure dashboards, and complex, data-dense interfaces, with a need to create exceptional UX for technical users.
Responsibilities
- Own design end-to-end across research, wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, prototypes, and shipped production UI.
- Design developer-facing products including cluster management dashboards, API consoles, job scheduling interfaces, resource utilization views, and alerting and observability surfaces.
- Write and maintain production-quality CSS and front-end markup in collaboration with engineering.
- Build and maintain a coherent design system with scalable components and interaction patterns.
- Conduct lightweight user research with technical audiences through interviews, usability sessions, and feedback synthesis.
- Translate product requirements into interaction models with PMs and designs into implementation-ready specs with engineers.
- Bring a strong visual point of view, articulating design decisions with confidence.
- Raise the overall design quality bar across the organization through work, feedback, and taste.
Requirements
- 5+ years of product design experience with a portfolio demonstrating shipped work on complex, data-dense, or developer-facing products.
- Demonstrated history of designing developer tools, infrastructure UIs, API management consoles, observability dashboards, or other technically complex interfaces.
- Fluency with modern design tooling (Figma required) and ability to build high-fidelity, interactive prototypes.
- Expert-level CSS: ability to write from scratch, debug in production, and deeply understand cascade, specificity, and layout models (Flexbox, Grid).
- Strong front-end web proficiency: HTML, component-based frameworks (React or equivalent), and understanding of browser rendering and performance implications.
- End-to-end ownership mindset: experience taking designs from concept to production.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to explain design decisions to engineers and PMs.
- Experience designing tools for physical infrastructure, cloud infrastructure, or AI platforms, or deep familiarity with this user base (preferred).
- Prior experience building or contributing to a design system from the ground up (preferred).
- Comfort working directly in code: modifying React components, prototyping in CSS, or collaborating on front-end implementation (preferred).
- History of sourcing and running user research with technical stakeholders (preferred).
- Familiarity with the visual language of technical products (preferred).
