About the Role

The HR Advisor partners with regional People Leaders to drive business results through the implementation of talent strategies and solutions. This role provides tactical management of day-to-day talent focus areas, including recruitment, performance management, development, compensation, and succession planning. This position is the lead HR contact for the Central region (Texas and Denver).

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate and coach managers and team members on performance management and employee relations.
  • Assist with Performance Reviews and other HR development processes.
  • Travel to local field sites regularly to build effective working relationships and develop business acumen.
  • Enable leaders to successfully recruit for, interview, and select top talent.
  • Execute full cycle recruitment activities, providing expertise on sourcing, interviewing, employment and background checks, testing, offers, and onboarding.
  • Monitor recruitment process to ensure optimal hiring decisions.
  • Support the annual compensation process, enabling leaders to use company framework when applying total rewards.
  • Ensure job profiles are accurately leveled and matched for equitable and competitive market pay.
  • Coach leaders on the pay-for-performance philosophy.
  • Partner with People Leaders to ensure moments of importance and value are recognized, enhancing the team member experience.
  • Continuously enhance the team member experience by managing workplace conflicts.
  • Provide local support on the coordination and delivery of team member, leadership, or management development training programs.
  • Coordinate and deliver specialized training in areas such as recruitment, performance management, team building, and mentoring.
  • Assist with the development, design, organization, and implementation of programs to drive employee satisfaction and commitment.
  • Facilitate and deliver employee and leadership training programs, coordinating with facilitators and internal subject matter experts.
  • Consult with payroll to ensure processes and systems are accurate and effective.
  • Ensure labor law compliance and maintain team member files.
  • Collaborate with the HR team to create and improve People operations procedures and processes.
  • Update and maintain People information in HRIS system and on Brookfield Residential intranet.
  • Create reporting as needed.
  • Participate on select cross-functional or company-wide committees.

Requirements

  • 3-5+ years of progressive HR/Business experience demonstrating knowledge of talent development, recruitment strategy, performance management, and compensation.
  • Undergraduate degree in business or related discipline.
  • Solid working knowledge of related employment regulations and legislation.
  • Ability to influence without authority.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with primary client groups virtually and in-person.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Demonstrate customer service orientation.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated project management, organizational, and exceptional time management skills.
