About the Role

The Regional Medical Officer is a leadership role responsible for ensuring providers are well-oriented, engaged, and trained in PM Pediatric Care’s culture, values, and processes. This role focuses on provider training, performance, retention, and ensuring quality and safety standards are met.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person orientation for new providers, covering culture, quality, and office workflow.
• Ensure timely completion of the Provider Training Program, including assessments, Bootcamps, skills workshops, lectures, and RESCUE training.
• Engage with low-performing providers to improve clinical performance and educate all providers on new clinical guidelines.
• Support the Regional Operations Director in adjusting provider schedules for training needs and productivity.
• Collaborate with the regional team to secure backup coverage for last-minute callouts.
• Respond to medically related patient complaints and urgent calls.
• Review safety reports, investigate root causes, implement corrective actions, and provide feedback to providers.
• Ensure appropriate provider documentation and coach providers on templates, coding, and resource utilization.
• Review candidate qualifications, conduct interviews, arrange shadowing shifts, and make hiring recommendations.
• Circulate among provider staff to provide mentorship and support.
• Respond to medical escalation consults and develop a system for peer-to-peer consults.
• Conduct pNPS reviews and work with underperforming providers on action plans.
• Recommend providers for Performance Improvement Plans (PIP) and provide related training and mentorship.
• Provide backup coverage for Regional Clinical Managers or Regional Medical Officers on PTO.
• Participate in the Administrator-On-Call rotation.
• Serve as the Clinical Lab Director and Radiography Safety Officer in the region.
• Serve as Collaborating Physician for APPs.
• Serve as the primary liaison to JV Partners and Chief Medical Officers in the region.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited ACGME/AOA in Pediatric or IM-Peds residency training program.
• BC/BE with the ABP or ABEM/AOBEM.
• Ability to obtain and maintain DEA certification.
• Licensed in the state where the site is located.
• Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges.
• Training and quality improvement/process improvement experience.

• $140,000 - $180,000
