About the Role
Penn Wood Products, Inc. has an immediate opening for an Industrial Maintenance Technician responsible for maintaining production and quality by ensuring the operation of mechanical and electrical equipment. This role involves industrial machinery upkeep, working independently or with a crew, and performing maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
Responsibilities
- Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive and corrective maintenance requirements.
- Performs maintenance on motors, gearboxes, pneumatic systems, coupling and motor alignment, roller chain/sprockets alignment, conveyor systems, and production machines.
- Follows diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications.
- Troubleshoots malfunctions and complies with NEC standards on wiring and installations.
- Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices, listening for issues, and using precision measuring tools.
- Removes defective parts by dismantling devices using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools.
- Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
- Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments using hand tools, levels, and alignment equipment.
- Controls downtime by informing production workers of preventive maintenance techniques and monitoring compliance.
- Optimizes maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies efficiently.
- Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting actions, communicating irregularities, and scheduling corrections.
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Requirements
- Industrial maintenance experience required.
- Corrective/breakdown experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of industrial equipment, its usage, and safety procedures.
- Self-motivated, responsible, and safety-oriented individual.
- Ability to learn and apply standard tools and techniques to solve problems.
- Demonstrates a positive "can-do" attitude.
- Takes responsibility for self-performance and can manage time and responsibilities independently.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing results and meeting expectations.
- Must be able to navigate various areas consisting of uneven terrain, climbing stairs, ladders, and working at heights.
- Able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, and balance.
- Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms.
- Must be able to lift objects up to 60 pounds.
- Must be able to push and pull up to 100 pounds.
- Must be able to work in atmospheric conditions such as extreme cold, heat, humidity, and other various weather conditions.
- Employee may be exposed to moderate noise levels.
- Required to wear common protective clothing and use proper safety equipment (safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, etc.).
