About the Role

As a Senior Product Designer at BuildOps, you will own key initiatives and product areas, driving impact through end-to-end design work. This role is ideal for someone energized by complex, ambiguous problems in a fast-paced environment and eager to grow with a well-funded, fast-moving startup.

Responsibilities

  • Independently own the end-to-end design process, from user flow diagrams to polished designs ready for engineering handoff.
  • Participate in discovery calls and user visits, synthesizing research into key insights.
  • Partner with product managers to deliver user and business value.
  • Collaborate with engineers, QA, and stakeholders to understand requirements and iterate on ideas.
  • Participate in design reviews by sharing work and providing constructive feedback.
  • Contribute to the design team's culture of collaboration and support.
  • Mentor junior team members.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in product design, with a proven track record of delivering successful products from concept to launch.
  • Experience working on enterprise or vertical SaaS.
  • Expert proficiency in Figma.
  • Strong understanding of UX/UI principles and methodologies.
  • Experience conducting user research and usability testing.
  • Experience making data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts and rationale.
  • Proficiency with AI tools (e.g., Figma Make, Claude Code) to enhance synthesis, ideation, and prototyping.
  • Ability to travel up to six times per year for team meetings and customer visits.
  • Familiarity with the commercial trades (HVAC, plumbing, electrical) and/or construction, preferred but not required.
  • An understanding of HTML and CSS principles, preferred.
  • Familiarity with tools like Dovetail and Jira, preferred.
  • Comfortable navigating complex and ambiguous projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • A self-starter who is hard-working and naturally takes initiative.
  • Detail-oriented.
