About the Role

Performs technical oversight of complex engineering projects within a specific specialization or market sector. Formulates and guides solutions for difficult and important organizational problems. May develop niche technical services and is aware of company goals to advance project success. Focus may include high-profile clients or projects.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate project work with all engineering staff and consultants.
  • Troubleshoot and provide design and/or construction solutions.
  • Apply advanced engineering techniques and analyses.
  • Utilize thorough knowledge of current technology to select and apply appropriate engineering software for projects.
  • Perform complex engineering tasks efficiently and accurately.
  • Assist in recruiting, retaining, and developing top industry talent.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative and productive relationships with employees, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Conduct individual investigations into complex technical problems.
  • Ensure quality control through project review at various design stages.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to clients on technical issues.
  • Represent the firm at technical conferences.
  • Represent the firm at client meetings.
  • Assist in performance management by providing feedback for evaluations.
  • Determine technical staffing needs for the group with the Project Manager.
  • Assure financial and technical project success and maintain high client satisfaction.
  • Provide informal task supervision of CAD Operators, Designers, Junior Associates, Engineers, Engineer IIs, Senior Engineers, and Principal Engineers at the direction of the Project Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • A minimum of 15 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Substation and power experience; P&C experience is a plus; electrical system modeling.
  • PE is required at this level.
