About the Role

OAK Global offers a unique opportunity to build a modern, best-in-class technology architecture in a greenfield environment. This role involves leading the development and implementation of strategic applications and core software within OCEAN, working with a multidisciplinary team to translate complex concepts into scalable software. It is a senior contributor role with technical leadership responsibilities, influencing architecture, implementation patterns, and engineering standards.

Responsibilities

Play a central role in the design and development of software applications and platform capabilities across OCEAN.
Lead end-to-end delivery of full-stack applications, from frontend user experience through to backend services, APIs and cloud deployment.
Build both React/TypeScript applications and Python-based internal analytical applications, including Streamlit tools.
Develop Python services, serverless APIs and workflow components across Lambda, Step Functions, S3 and DynamoDB.
Productionize pricing and analytics tools into maintainable software.
Design and implement REST APIs and service interfaces enabling interoperability across internal tools, models and external platforms.
Refactor pricing models and other applications into production-grade software within OCEAN.
Design application architectures that enable long-term integration with AI.
Contribute to strategic technology initiatives.
Translate complex requirements into high-quality software.
Harden proprietary tooling and internal applications to improve reliability, resilience, security and operational readiness.
Work closely with the Head of Engineering to establish and uphold best-practice engineering and technical standards including testing, CI/CD, observability, code quality and infrastructure-as-code.
Provide technical leadership through architecture decisions, engineering judgement, implementation quality and hands-on delivery.

Requirements

Lead software engineering experience (Lead/Staff Software Engineer or similar).
Experience delivering full-stack production-grade applications in AWS spanning frontend, backend and cloud infra.
Experience designing application architectures and integrating multiple internal and external systems through APIs and services.
BSc/MSc in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
