About the Role

Administer therapeutic treatments for symptoms and disorders using acupuncture procedures, as referred by internal primary care physicians. This role involves diagnosing conditions, creating personalized treatment plans, and providing various complementary therapies to promote health and well-being.

Responsibilities

  • Administer specific therapeutic treatment of symptoms and disorders amenable to acupuncture procedures.
  • Engage in the practice of acupuncture, electro-acupuncture, perform or prescribe oriental massage, acupressure, moxibustion, cupping, breathing techniques, exercise, heat, cold, magnets, nutrition, diet, herbs, plant, animal, and mineral products, and dietary supplements.
  • Take a detailed case history, questioning patients about their physical and emotional health history, lifestyle, and diet.
  • Make a diagnosis and devise a personalized treatment plan.
  • Explain the diagnosis and treatment to the patient, responding to their questions and concerns.
  • Provide an accurate diagnosis supported by medical findings using standardized examination and techniques, including TCM and Western diagnostic techniques.
  • Treat patients by inserting fine needles into the skin at particular locations to stimulate energy flow.
  • Incorporate other treatments such as moxibustion, electro-acupuncture, acupressure, and cupping.
  • Provide medically necessary acupuncture, consults, assessments, and treatments when requested/authorized by family physicians/specialists.
  • Provide quality treatment to cure or relieve the medical condition causing the patient's complaint.
  • Document all treatments and patient's response to acupuncture therapy in the EHR.
  • Perform other job duties or projects as required by the Integrative Medicine manager.

Requirements

  • 2 years experience working as an acupuncturist is required.
  • Must possess a current/valid Licensed Acupuncturist from the State of California.
  • Current documentation of Basic Life Support is required.
  • Must be able to fluently speak, read and write English.
  • Fluency in Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin) is required.

Salary/Compensations

  • $112,247.20 - $128,752.00
