About the Role
Contribute to civil engineering projects, gaining hands-on experience in design, analysis, and project development under the supervision of experienced engineers. Support the preparation of drawings, specifications, and reports, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to civil engineering projects in support of client needs.
- Work under the supervision of experienced engineers to provide hands-on experience in design, analysis, and overall project development and execution.
- Assist in the preparation of engineering drawings, specifications, and special provisions.
- Support field inspections and contribute to the development of evaluation reports.
- Collect and analyze data to prepare clear, concise technical reports.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support project planning and execution.
- Work under direct supervision to create or revise civil design documents and drawings.
- Perform engineering support tasks, including calculations and analysis, with minimal supervision.
- Apply relevant industry standards.
- Gain proficiency in using the document management system and adhere to corporate engineering practices.
- Participate in site visits and inspection of work to gain hands-on experience in construction and design, and to drive successful completion of the work to the intent of the engineer-of-record.
- Demonstrate accountability for the quality and accuracy of assigned work.
- Proactively identify and communicate potential project issues and suggest possible solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or related field and 5 years of experience as a civil engineer, structural engineer, construction site engineer/assistant project manager, or related position in civil engineering.
- Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, and 3 years of experience as a civil engineer, structural engineer, construction site engineer/assistant project manager, or related position in civil engineering.
- Completion of OSHA 10 hour/30-hour Construction Awareness Training.
- Completion of OSHA 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations Training.
- Must be able to obtain Professional Engineer license from State of Texas within 1 year of employment.
- Conceptual development of a construction project related to scheduling/schedule analysis, budgeting/Change Order analysis, and overall project implementation/execution.
- Reading and interpreting plans, maps, and specifications and recognizing deviations from plans in construction items.
- Horizontal and vertical construction methods, practices, and materials.
