About the Role
The Site Engineer provides IT support for business operations, ensuring local and remote business systems remain online and running optimally. This role resolves escalated end-user help requests, supports users remotely and in-person, and takes ownership of the home site's IT infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Act as an escalation point for advanced or difficult incident/requests to IT Operations
- Perform end-user systems setup, management, and maintenance (laptop, desktop, mobile)
- Manage and maintain servers and networks
- Perform proactive maintenance and repair for document imaging systems (Office and production label printers)
- Administer Microsoft Active Directory objects (user, group, computer), including Group Policy
- Manage Microsoft Office 365 accounts (provisioning, de-provisioning, maintenance)
- Set up, manage, secure, and maintain Windows Servers
- Oversee datacenter operations including VMWare, virtual networking, monitoring, and maintenance
- Respond to technical support requests via phone, email, and help desk
- Build rapport with end-users
- Record, track, and document the service desk request problem-solving process
- Create and maintain documentation for home site and remote locations/applications
- Provide after-hours support as required
- Travel may be required infrequently
- Plan for changes impacting network infrastructure with business users
- Evaluate documented resolutions and analyze trends to prevent future problems
- Alert management to emerging trends in incidents
- Assist in IT asset tracking and management of IT equipment
- Assist in setup and imaging of new computers
- Assist in setup of new server or networking equipment
- Assist in software releases and PC Refresh roll-outs
- Interface with application vendors to resolve specialized issues
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on rapport-building, listening and questioning skills
- Ability to present ideas in user-friendly, business-friendly and technical language
- Fluent English and strong written and oral communication language skills
- Highly self-motivated, self-directed and keen attention to detail
- Proven analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Exceptional customer service orientation
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language
- Maintain high level of confidentiality with company information
- Complete a background and drug test screening
- Combination of refrigerated warehouse (20%) and office (80%) environment
- Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals. Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. with or without accommodation.
- On-call and after-hours availability as needed and some holiday coverage
- Sitting for extended periods of time.
- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools, and other computer components.
- Handle stressful situations, multi-tasking, and critical deadlines
Skills
- Advanced Knowledge of computer hardware (desktops, laptops, tablets, mobile phones, printers/copiers, servers, storage devices, networking equipment)
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with Windows Server
- Experience with Windows and Mac operating systems
- Experience with Cisco Networking devices
- Experience with Microsoft 365 and Azure
- Experience with VMWare virtualization
- Cabling experience a plus
- Spanish a plus

Salary/Compensations
- $63,000 - $65,000
