About the Role

Our pet bathers are an integral part of the team in our busy salons, focusing on bathing dogs of all sizes and temperaments to ensure they look their best. Additional responsibilities include brushing, trimming nails, and performing add-on services. We are an Employee-owned and operated company that is expanding, which provides many growth opportunities within the company.

Responsibilities

• Ensures the safety, security, and well-being of each pet.
• Handles pets with skill and care, following safe handling procedures.
• Consults with customers and complies with requests to ensure satisfaction.
• Interacts with customers in a warm, friendly, and professional manner.
• Maintains records, daysheets, worksheets, and pet reports neatly.
• Starts shifts on time and finishes pets before the promised time.
• Performs grooming services to quality expectations.
• Grooms pets according to customer requests using established procedures.
• Works in an organized and hygienic manner, keeping the work area clean.
• Sanitizes tools and compartments between pets.
• Understands and appropriately uses products according to label directions.
• Assists the manager in maintaining inventory by reporting stock levels.
• Treats equipment and tools with care and assists with simple maintenance.
• Reports mechanical failures to the manager in writing and follows up.
• Interacts with management and staff to ensure smooth salon operations and high service quality.
• Interacts well with fellow employees and follows manager directives.
• Maintains a high level of productivity while prioritizing safety and quality.
• Accepts additional grooms to meet demand when possible.
• Mentors, guides, trains, and coaches new and less experienced associates when qualified and requested.
• Participates in “Buddy Training” to expand grooming services.
• Suggests beneficial add-on services and retail products.
• Increases grooming business by attracting new customers and encouraging referrals.
• Uses provided street marketing tools.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be able to frequently lift 40 pounds.
• Must be able to be on feet eight hours per day.
• Must be able to stand, walk, and climb stairs frequently.
• Must be able to handle dogs on leashes.
• Must be able to work in an environment with exposure to disinfectant/sanitation chemicals, animal dander, and excretions.
• Must have excellent interpersonal skills.
• Must have strong communication skills.
• Must possess a love of animals and patience when handling pets.
• Displays a professional manner at all times.
