About the Role
Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Project Manager - Commercial Architecture to join our Buildings Engineering Services team in Houston, TX. This role involves assisting in the technical and administrative direction of projects, ensuring client satisfaction and contract adherence through constant communication.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of effective work plans and labor budgets.
- Monitor project time schedules and capital cost budgets.
- Oversee the work and productivity on assigned projects.
- Achieve predetermined goals for profit, productivity targets, and schedule of deliverables.
- Participate in team meetings to ensure project review and approval procedures are followed.
- Negotiate scope changes with clients regarding project budgets and schedules, subject to supervisor approval.
- Ensure all project work adheres to designated QA/QC standards, systems, and procedures.
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with project team members to ensure high utilization rates.
- Review monthly labor and cost reports to ensure projects meet pre-established goals.
- Assist in mentoring junior staff on technical and business practices.
- Assist with preparation for public hearings, meetings, and presentations.
- Work with the Billing Department to authorize and transmit bills to clients and follow up on payments.
- Adhere to the Health and Safety program and applicable SOPs.
- May oversee assigned staff activities, including timesheet review, performance evaluation, and daily supervision.
Requirements
- Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree in Architecture or equivalent work experience to maintain licensed architect status.
- 8-10+ years of experience as an Architect.
- Licensure in the state of Texas required.
- Previous use and understanding of AutoCAD and Revit design software.
- Ability to produce preliminary and schematic designs in AutoCAD.
- Revit proficiency is desired.
- Strong communication skills required.
- Willingness to mentor team members on technical and professional skills.
- Previous business development and project management experience preferred.
- Ability to work in close collaboration with other managers, leadership, clients, and consultants.
- Client facing experience.
- Ability to work primarily independently.
- Willing to travel occasionally to client sites and meetings.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English for job-related communications and instructions.
