About the Role

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a creative Architect to join our Commercial Architecture team in Texas. You will collaborate with designers to bring client visions to life, from planning and feasibility studies through final design and construction, working on diverse projects that shape communities.

Responsibilities

  • Make independent decisions regarding architectural complexities and methods.
  • Analyze reports, maps, drawings, and tests to plan and design a project.
  • Prepare or modify reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, environmental impact studies, and designs.
  • Assist in fee preparation, scoping, and marketing strategies for proposed projects.
  • Ensure designs meet code requirements.
  • Understand and create full sets of construction documentation.
  • Coordinate changes to construction documents.
  • Research product materials and work with manufacturers to determine costs and best product.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with other design professionals (in-house or subcontractors) on project teams.
  • Respond to and review RFIs and submittals.
  • Participate in the creation of proposal and/or client meeting materials.
  • Delegate and oversee tasks assigned to Intern Architects and Summer Interns.
  • Conduct site visits for construction administration duties.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree in Architecture or equivalent work experience required to maintain licensed architect status.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong understanding of AutoCAD and Revit design software.
  • Ability to produce preliminary and schematic designs in AutoCAD; Revit is desired.
  • Willing to travel occasionally to client sites and meetings.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English for job-related communications and instructions.
