About the Role
EPE is seeking a Senior Engineer to specialize in Transmission Planning studies. You will collaborate with senior leadership to support growth strategies, provide subject matter expertise, and mentor staff while delivering high-quality solutions to clients.
Responsibilities
- Perform high-level bulk power system studies using PSS/E, PSCAD, Aspen, and TARA
- Lead and mentor electrical engineers in steady state, short circuit, and dynamic & transient stability analyses
- Conduct advanced specialized studies such as Sub-synchronous Resonance
- Ensure timely project completion within quality and budget objectives
- Interact with clients to address project needs and concerns
- Develop mitigation plans for system constraints and issues
- Review and develop transmission planning study methodologies
- Lead process improvement efforts to enhance efficiency
- Support business development activities
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Electric Engineering, power systems emphasis preferred
- 5+ years of professional experience as a Power Systems Engineer
- Experience performing impact studies including Dynamic Stability, Load Flow, Steady State, and Short Circuit
- Proven team player with ability to build internal and external relationships
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Capable of managing multiple tasks
- Flexible with the ability to manage change
- High standards for producing quality reports
- Strong technical and report writing skills
- Occasional travel (10% or less)
