About the Role

EPE is seeking a Senior Engineer to specialize in Transmission Planning studies. You will collaborate with senior leadership to support growth strategies, provide subject matter expertise, and mentor staff while delivering high-quality solutions to clients.

Responsibilities

  • Perform high-level bulk power system studies using PSS/E, PSCAD, Aspen, and TARA
  • Lead and mentor electrical engineers in steady state, short circuit, and dynamic & transient stability analyses
  • Conduct advanced specialized studies such as Sub-synchronous Resonance
  • Ensure timely project completion within quality and budget objectives
  • Interact with clients to address project needs and concerns
  • Develop mitigation plans for system constraints and issues
  • Review and develop transmission planning study methodologies
  • Lead process improvement efforts to enhance efficiency
  • Support business development activities

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Electric Engineering, power systems emphasis preferred
  • 5+ years of professional experience as a Power Systems Engineer
  • Experience performing impact studies including Dynamic Stability, Load Flow, Steady State, and Short Circuit
  • Proven team player with ability to build internal and external relationships
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks
  • Flexible with the ability to manage change
  • High standards for producing quality reports
  • Strong technical and report writing skills
  • Occasional travel (10% or less)
