About the Role
This role combines responsibility for franchise strategy development with oversight of business execution, governance, and control activities, supporting the Canada Franchise. It offers broad exposure across Citi’s Canadian operations and interaction with regional and global partners.
Responsibilities
- Support the development, articulation, and execution of the Canada franchise strategy in close partnership with the Canada CCO.
- Lead structured strategic analyses (e.g., growth opportunities, competitive positioning, client segmentation, market trends) to inform decision-making.
- Own development of executive- and Board-level materials, including strategy presentations, business reviews, and decision memos.
- Translate complex financial, risk, and market data into clear, compelling insights for senior audiences.
- Partner with North America and global teams to align Canada priorities with broader enterprise strategy.
- Work with Manager to maintain governance and risk oversight of Manager's Control Assessment activities for the Canada business unit, ensuring end-to-end operational risk reporting is accurate, current, and actioned.
- Engage directly with global functions — including operational risk management, compliance assurance, anti-money laundering, audit, finance, and legal teams — to identify, assess, and mitigate business risks across the franchise.
- Coordinate the issues management process across functions and business lines, ensuring timely identification, documentation, and resolution of issues and corrective action plans.
- Help develop new business product risk and control standards across the franchise, conducting ongoing monitoring and oversight of compliance, operational, and non-financial risks.
- Maintain inherent risk ratings for Canada Banking legal vehicles.
- Develop policies and procedures related to CCO Office and wider Canada franchise.
- Collate information for regulatory reports and primary Canada governance forums.
Requirements
- 10 or more years of experience in the financial services industry, with a background in strategy, business execution, a country office, or project management environments.

- Track record of managing through influence in matrix or cross-functional environments, driving outcomes without direct reporting authority.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop and deliver compelling presentations to executive-level stakeholders.
- Risk-oriented mindset with an interest in applying technology to improve reporting processes and control frameworks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to a high standard of output quality.
