About the Role

The Market Asset Protection Manager (MAPM) manages Asset Protection and Safety program activities in multiple store locations within an assigned market. This position drives accountability, supports store locations, and reduces shrink by ensuring AP strategies are executed to standards. The role aims to increase store profitability, reduce shrink, and maintain a safe and secure environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct store visits and audits to evaluate operational compliance, identify policy violations, and assess store compliance.
  • Provide feedback to General Managers on receiving, high-risk merchandise handling, and physical security.
  • Guide store teams through practical and results-driven Shrink Action Plans.
  • Provide coaching to associates and managers on customer engagement, merchandise protection, and operational discipline.
  • Initiate and conduct investigations into violations of company policy, focusing on potential dishonest activity.
  • Provide management reports summarizing and analyzing losses, recommending corrective actions.
  • Serve as liaison between public authorities and the company for theft prosecution.
  • Conduct training on Asset Protection policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with building leaders on shrink reduction and awareness.
  • Partner with store AP Outfitters and HR to identify shrink drivers and enforce policies.
  • Coordinate physical security for stores, including training on surveillance equipment.
  • Observe and participate in inventory processes.
  • Develop strategies to reduce shortage and accident frequency.

Requirements

  • Minimum High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Criminal Justice from an accredited institution is preferred.
  • Certification in Wicklander Zulawski Investigative Interviewing is preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years of supervisory/management experience in multi-unit retail.
  • Experience in training/coaching field management in AP operations.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Ongoing verification of driving eligibility will be conducted.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.

  • Adept at problem solving and solution oriented
  • Knowledge of Point of Sale (POS) exception based software
  • Experience in the setup and operations of physical security systems (CCTV, EAS, etc.)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to use a laptop, tablet, and/or iPad and mobile phone
