About the Role
Hach, a Veralto company, is dedicated to ensuring water quality worldwide. We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Sr Cost Accountant with a focus on manufacturing cost accounting to join our finance team. This role is crucial for managing the Company’s accounting books, records, and general ledger specific to costing and manufacturing, ensuring the financial health of our plant operations. You will collaborate with Plant Controllers/Business Partners, local Finance & Accounting teams, and global Cost Accounting teams, while also supporting financial report preparation and providing insights to enhance cost efficiency and profitability.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain standard costs for materials, labor, and overheads, and analyze variances against these standards.
- Manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing cycle for relevant cost accounts and reconciliations, ensuring financial statements and all supporting documentation are timely, accurate, and complete in compliance with US GAAP, local GAAP, SOX, and Veralto Finance policies and procedures.
- Support Plant Business Partners & Controllers with analysis of production costs, raw materials, and operational expenses to identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize manufacturing processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, supply chain, procurement, and finance, to gather relevant data and insights for cost analysis.
- Monitor inventory levels and reconcile discrepancies, ensuring accurate valuation and reporting.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes, specifically focusing on manufacturing costs and related expenses.
Requirements
- BS or BA Degree in Finance or Accounting required.
- Proven experience as a Cost Accountant in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, cost analysis, and financial reporting.
- Knowledge of US GAAP, local GAAP, and SOX compliance requirements.
- Strong ERP skills, with Oracle Fusion knowledge preferred.
- Fluent in English.
- German language preferred.
