About the Role

Outward is seeking a full-time Caretaker/Handy Person to join their central caretaking team. This role is crucial for providing a high-quality intensive housing management service, ensuring residents can sustain their tenancies and that their homes are safe, clean, and tidy.

Responsibilities

  • Provide an excellent caretaker service, ensuring properties are left safe, clean, and tidy after works.
  • Manage and plan daily activities to optimize time.
  • Conduct regular health and safety checks and tests.
  • Complete documented property inspections as required.
  • Complete all relevant training.
  • Provide caretaker support to older people's services.
  • Carry out maintenance tasks safely and with practical ability.
  • Travel across multiple sites within a broad geographical area.
  • Adapt to changing duties or priorities.

Requirements

  • Basic DIY or trade skills (plumbing, carpentry, electrical, painting).
  • Experience using hand tools and light machinery.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Clean UK Driving Licence.
  • Access to a smartphone capable of receiving SMS messages and installing authentication apps.
  • At least one year's experience in a similar role.
  • Ability to carry out maintenance tasks safely and with practical ability.
  • A can-do attitude towards residents and colleagues.
  • Full DBS check will be completed before a final job offer.
