About the Role
As a Finance Operations Intern, you will be the operational backbone of our Finance team. You will be responsible for the entire accounts payable process, serve as the central point of contact for our tax advisors, and ensure that our subsidiaries operate cleanly and in accordance with processes. You will work closely with the Finance Lead and gain insight into all areas of our financial structure, from individual incoming invoices to consolidated reporting logic in Lucanet.
Responsibilities
- Manage the entire incoming invoice workflow, including mail processing, invoice chasing, approval processes, and executing payments.
- Ensure invoices are recorded with the correct accounts, cost centers, and tax rates.
- Act as the first point of contact before bookings are sent to tax advisors and support with accounting inquiries.
- Regularly review the financial statements of subsidiaries, identify discrepancies and implausibilities, and ensure consistent adherence to established processes.
- Learn and utilize Lucanet for consolidation and support data quality and completeness in group reporting.
- Assist with finance-related special projects and provide occasional support in operations.
Requirements
- Demonstrates ownership and proactively addresses issues.
- Understands the importance of account selection for reporting and tax purposes.
- Quickly learns new tools and systems.
- Remains capable of action in ambiguous situations and contributes to building processes.
- Balances quality with pragmatism, understanding when 'good enough' is sufficient.
- Fluent in German and English.
- Willingness to work from the office in Prenzlauer Berg.
