About the Role
Mace is providing support in the global asset management strategy for a multinational pharmaceutical client based in Germany. Working closely with the client’s team, you will be responsible for ensuring that a large building project is completed safely, within an agreed timeframe and budget. You will manage the practical side of every stage of the build, working closely with architects, surveyors and other building professionals in planning and delivery.
Responsibilities
- Establish key relationships with the client and other key stakeholders.
- Set up regular and clear lines of communication to address issues.
- Chair weekly progress meetings and report on project and commercial progress.
- Manage the contractor(s) based on site.
- Manage and develop the team to ensure objectives are met and staff are supported and motivated.
- Assess resources available on a regular basis and bring in additional support/specialist expertise.
- Establish and monitor appropriate project operating procedures and systems, ensuring the management plan is followed.
- Ensure safe project working practices are adhered to for all site personnel.
- Ensure subject matter experts and users are up to date and engaged during the project lifecycle.
- Ensure close-out and practical completion schedules are completed and issued.
- Represent the company in a presentable and professional manner.
- Ensure Mace management system is always followed.
- Provide financial reports on time (forecasts, budgets, income, fees etc.).
Requirements
- Relevant degree qualification and a member of a professional institute.
- Previous working experience in a similar role.
- Experience in pharmaceuticals projects.
- Understanding of the built environment and the construction lifecycle.
- Understanding of the German HOAI phases and VOB contract procedures.
- Successful track record of managing clients, contractors and other stakeholders.
- Sound knowledge of the German legal framework, including health and safety regulations, contract law (BGB, VOB), environment and building regulations.
- Expert in key project processes such as design principles and management, construction processes, procurement and tendering.
- Digitally savvy.
- Ability to build relationships and provide support to strong, motivated teams.
- Experience in project management within the pharmaceutical sector.
