About the Role
As a Service Engineer within ABB’s Electrification Business Area in Japan, you will provide services to domestic customers, support system design, and contribute to sales expansion. This role involves hands-on field work, SCADA system commissioning, and troubleshooting, while leveraging technical knowledge of ABB’s Digital Solutions to support sales. You will have the opportunity to engage in global collaboration through short-term training and design work at overseas offices.
Responsibilities
- Support design activities for SCADA systems
- Execute commissioning and troubleshooting for SCADA systems
- Perform on-site service engineering work including at construction sites
- Conduct and support system commissioning, communication testing, and end-to-end testing
- Perform final system configuration testing and resolve defects
- Provide customer training, retraining, and ongoing post-installation support
- Support technical proposals and sales activities in collaboration with the sales team
- Provide technical proposals, implementation support, and respond to customer inquiries
- Contribute to software product roadmaps and portfolios through feature and improvement proposals
- Engage in software development, quality assurance, testing, DevOps, cybersecurity, and release management
- Participate in short-term overseas training and design work
Requirements
- Technical college diploma or higher
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience with control equipment including commissioning and testing
- Practical experience with SCADA systems and network equipment
- Business-level Japanese proficiency
- Business-level English proficiency for international collaboration
- Valid Japanese driver's license
