About the Role
Red Hat Consulting is seeking an OpenShift Senior Consultant in Sydney, Australia, to architect and implement enterprise-scale container solutions. This role involves acting as a trusted advisor, guiding customers through digital transformation, designing sophisticated OpenShift environments, mentoring teams, and ensuring the adoption of DevOps and GitOps practices.
Responsibilities
- Lead complex Red Hat Consulting engagements, managing the full project lifecycle from design and architecture to implementation.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor for Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) at client sites.
- Design and implement OpenShift solutions integrating with customer infrastructure, including networking, storage, security, and identity management.
- Mentor and guide customer teams on best practices for containerization, application deployment, and OpenShift administration.
- Develop and implement CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows for automated application delivery.
- Produce high-quality technical documentation, including architecture designs and operational runbooks.
- Provide technical leadership and hands-on support for OpenShift upgrades, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
- Proactively identify and mitigate project risks, keeping stakeholders informed.
- Champion continuous learning and stay current with OpenShift features, cloud-native technologies, and industry trends.
Requirements
- Extensive experience as a senior consultant or architect with a focus on cloud-native and container technologies.
- Deep, hands-on expertise with Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP), including installation, configuration, and day-2 operations.
- Advanced knowledge of Kubernetes and core concepts.
- Expertise in designing and implementing solutions with a focus on high availability, scalability, and security.
- Experience with DevOps and GitOps practices and related tools.
- Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure concepts, including networking, storage, and virtualization.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., Python, Bash, Ansible).
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration is highly desirable.
- Willingness to pursue other relevant certifications.
- Must be an Australian citizen.
