About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Global Director, Audit & Assurance to lead and embed a robust, risk-based audit and assurance framework across OneSchool Global. This is a critical global leadership role responsible for delivering independent assurance over governance, safeguarding, compliance, and operational effectiveness across all regions. You will design and execute the global audit program, ensure policy intent is consistently applied, and drive continuous improvement across the organisation.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement a risk-based audit and assurance framework aligned to enterprise risks and regulatory obligations.
  • Conduct audits and assurance reviews across regions and campuses, producing high-quality, board-ready reports.
  • Oversee safeguarding audits and legacy reviews, including engagement with external specialists where required.
  • Develop and track practical solutions to audit findings, ensuring sustainable outcomes.
  • Contribute to policy development, assurance mapping, and governance frameworks across the organisation.
  • Work with auditors, regulators, and advisors, and provide clear reporting to Boards and Audit & Risk Committees.
  • Establish audit standards, methodologies, and support the development of GRC capability globally.
  • Travel internationally to conduct audits, reviews, and stakeholder engagement.

Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. Accounting, Audit, Law, Risk, Governance).
  • 15+ years’ senior audit and assurance experience.
  • Strong knowledge of internal audit standards (IIA IPPF or equivalent).
  • Experience designing and delivering risk-based audit programs.
  • Proven ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders, including Boards.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex issues clearly.
  • Hands-on approach with the ability to both lead strategy and execute audits.
  • Experience in education or other regulated sectors (Desirable).
  • Exposure to safeguarding reviews or working alongside legal/safeguarding specialists (Desirable).
  • Experience working across global or federated organisational structures (Desirable).
