About the Role

This role is within the LexisNexis Risk Solutions Threat Metrix engineering team, focusing on innovation and exploration within a dedicated 'Labs' environment. The team operates using Agile methodologies and values engineers who can identify and pursue novel ideas, optimize existing systems, and contribute to significant product advancements. Success is measured by the impact of investigations, even those that don't yield immediate results.

Responsibilities

Identify opportunities to leverage existing subsystems for new capabilities.
Profile and optimize system performance to reduce load.
Investigate promising ideas, even if they prove to be dead-ends, and document findings.
Debug unfamiliar systems and read other people's code.
Contribute to self-initiated projects.

Requirements

Proven ability to solve complex problems.
Deep understanding of system-level concepts (memory, cache behavior, NUMA, syscall cost).
Proficiency in C++.
Ability to quickly become proficient in unfamiliar technology stacks.
Self-starter with a low-ego approach to collaboration.
Comfort working at the system and network levels.
Experience with reverse-engineering and debugging unfamiliar systems.
