About the Role
As a Staff Engineer, you will act as a force multiplier, setting technical direction and unblocking complex, cross-functional challenges. You will focus on architectural decisions for systems processing unstructured customer data at scale while mentoring engineers and driving high-leverage projects.
Responsibilities
- Set technical direction and make architecture and design decisions balancing speed and scale.
- Drive complex, cross-functional projects from ambiguity to delivery.
- Raise engineering standards through code reviews, system design, and mentorship.
- Own the reliability, performance, and security of systems handling enterprise-grade customer data.
- Identify and prioritize high-impact technical work.
- Establish guidelines and standards for product development processes based on industry best practices.
Requirements
- Extensive experience building full-stack web products.
- Hands-on experience with TypeScript, React, GraphQL, Node, and PostgreSQL.
- Experience with cloud vendors such as AWS or GCP.
- Proficiency in an object-oriented programming language such as C++, Java, or Python.
- Experience managing software projects, including delivery ownership and estimation.
- Experience architecting and shipping AI-native product features.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and adjust to shifting project goals.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate effort versus impact tradeoffs.
- Demonstrated ability to embed AI into day-to-day workflows.
