About the Role

The Surgical Operating Unit is a key business within Medtronic, focused on advancing minimally invasive therapies through innovative surgical technologies. We collaborate closely across functions including Sales, Marketing, Clinical, Service, and Digital teams to drive market expansion, improve patient outcomes, and create value for healthcare systems. The OU plays a critical role in shaping the future of surgery by integrating technology, data, and clinical insights.

Responsibilities

  • Transition the Global Marketing Commercialization plan for the Advanced MIS Platform to the Japan Commercial plan.
  • Ensure execution of fiscal plan while identifying and supporting market development initiatives.
  • Ensure alignment to the Global Strategy within the region of responsibility.
  • Assess and help to build/expand functional capabilities.
  • Serve as the regional conduit for Global Marketing.
  • Plan, lead, and direct the marketing for the product portfolio.
  • Develop and implement profitable growth strategies for a key business franchise.
  • Identify upstream opportunities for market including organic and inorganic opportunity assessment.
  • Develop strategies and execute marketing plans and programs, both short- and long-term, to ensure the profitable growth and market share of the assigned portfolio.
  • Build strategies and execute data management business including AI technologies.
  • Act as the voice of the region within PMT.
  • Develop promotional strategies, sales support materials, and educational aids to grow market share and ensure sales excellence.
  • Oversee the development of customer satisfaction surveys and needs assessments to continuously improve business models and communicate to global partners.
  • Ensure alignment to broader Surgical global strategy.
  • Assess and support to build/expand functional capabilities.
  • Act as a conduit to regional marketers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned with or without accommodation.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Marketing and Sales.
  • Proven success in marketing and business management.
  • Exceptional quantitative, analytical, written and verbal skills in English.
  • Proven track record of planning, execution and results.
  • Competency in Executing in the Matrix, Strategic Agility, Managing Vision & Purpose, Decision Quality, Business Acumen and Innovation Management.
  • Knowledge of the hospital/surgical space is required.
  • Going into a healthcare setting is considered an essential function of the job and employees are expected to comply with all credentialing requirements at the hospitals or clinics they support.
