About the Role

The Guidewire Professional Services organization includes business analysts, functional consultants, and technical integration consultants who work together to help customers and SI vendors implement Guidewire applications. Projects are complex and can last from three months to two years. Consultants are expected to spend the majority of their time on-site with customer business and technical teams.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate effectively with Japanese customers in Japanese to understand their business goals, technical requirements, and project objectives.
  • Lead workshops to gather requirements, identify challenges, and propose solutions based on best practices.
  • Translate business requirements into functional specifications and system configurations.
  • Advise customers on adopting Guidewire’s best practices to optimize their business processes.
  • Configure Guidewire applications to meet customer requirements while ensuring alignment with their workflows.
  • Build strong relationships with customers by aligning Guidewire solutions with their specific business needs.
  • Perform Proof of Concept (PoC) activities to validate proposed solutions and demonstrate their feasibility.
  • Document configurations, functional designs, and integration processes for effective knowledge sharing.
  • Work with Guidewire product management to share configuration concepts and further develop core product functionality.

Requirements

  • For non-native Japanese speakers: near-native level Japanese proficiency, with strong relationship-building skills.
  • For non-native English speakers: business-level English (TOEIC 700+ or equivalent qualification, or ability to pass our language assessment); must be able to read and write documentation in English and communicate internally in English.
  • At least 7 years of combined experience in software development and consulting (minimum 3 years in each area).
  • Experience supporting the implementation and adoption of cloud / SaaS / platform-based systems for enterprise-scale customers.
  • Proven experience leading requirements definition and solution design (including architecture design, API integrations, data migration, etc.) while engaging both business and IT stakeholders.
  • Experience as an architect driving initiatives that involve multiple stakeholders (internal/external and domestic/international).
  • End-to-end experience across the full cycle from proposal through implementation and post-go-live adoption support.
  • Technical background in either applications or cloud, combined with strong business acumen to understand and articulate business problems.
  • Hands-on experience working in small teams and/or agile development environments.
  • Development of advanced web applications.
  • 2+ years of experience in object-oriented programming.
  • 2+ years of experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP).
  • Ability to quickly learn new products and new business domains.
  • Ability to lead customer discussions and navigate complex situations.
  • Experience across the full development lifecycle, from data modeling through UI/UX design.
