About the Role

Adyen is seeking a Regulatory Counsel with experience in the payments, financial service, or fintech industry in Australia/New Zealand. This role will enable Adyen to create unique business opportunities while making ethical choices by advising stakeholders on regulatory matters.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor regulatory developments and advise on their impact to Adyen.
  • Represent the team on workstreams and drive regulatory strategy.
  • Operationalize regulatory requirements in Australia and New Zealand for Adyen.
  • Collaborate and provide advice to internal stakeholders on legal and regulatory matters in Australia and New Zealand.
  • Manage routine and ad hoc regulatory requests and filings for Australia and New Zealand.
  • Advise on various matters with merchants, service providers, and stakeholders, in line with Adyen’s commercial and strategic objectives.

Requirements

  • Qualified as a lawyer in Australia.
  • Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong research, statutory interpretation, and organization skills.
  • Ability to conduct analysis of policy issues.
  • At least 5+ years of experience in a regulatory or legal role.
  • Some working knowledge of the payment industry, retail banking, acquiring, and finance.
  • Critical thinker, strategic, and innovative problem-solving skills.
  • Strong sense of initiative, independence, and ability to take ownership.
  • Supervision under a practising certificate can be accommodated.
