About the Role
As an Established Category Buyer - Menswear, you will shape the Menswear Accessories category by curating a selection that reflects the latest trends and meets evolving customer needs. This role requires a data-driven, creative, and negotiation-savvy individual to make a significant impact in an innovative e-commerce environment. You will drive company-wide strategies and OKRs, conduct market research, monitor inventory, evaluate vendor performance, and negotiate favorable terms.
Responsibilities
- Drive company-wide strategies and OKRs.
- Conduct market research to stay updated on the latest trends and products.
- Make recommendations on product and/or brand selection.
- Monitor inventory levels to maintain adequate stock.
- Evaluate vendor performance and assist in selection and deactivation processes.
- Negotiate favorable terms and conditions for commission-based and OTB-based vendors.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and industry regulations.
- Identify emerging trends and source new products.
- Maintain accurate records of vendor details.
- Identify opportunities for improvements in the customer onsite experience.
- Analyze data, interpret trends, and propose informed decisions.
- Identify cost savings opportunities and propose effective procurement and platform strategies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
- Liaise with internal teams for vendor onboarding and ongoing support.
- Collaborate with agreed key brands on building assortment.
- Manage inefficient and unproductive brands by proposing informed strategies.
- Ensure attention to detail with contract terms and conditions.
- Proactively collaborate with marketing to identify go-to-market and promotional opportunities.
- Develop and implement strategic roadmaps according to commercial strategies, brand adjacencies, and customer segment demographics.
- Develop relationships with internal key stakeholders such as Marketing, Vendor Management, Operations, and Finance.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to junior team members.
- Adapt to changes in the market and industry, learning new skills and approaches.
- Undertake any other duties as reasonably required by management.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Buyer working in a high-volume business.
- Skilled in Excel reporting, including pivot tables and v-lookups.
- Strong communication skills with a great eye for detail.
- Excellent time management skills.
- A strong team player who embodies THE ICONIC Principles.
- A love for all things men's fashion.
- Ability to read and understand complex contracts and ensure all terms and conditions are met.
