About the Role

This 6-month max-term contract position supports the safe, reliable, and efficient movement of passengers by maintaining critical airport infrastructure, specifically the Baggage Handling Systems (BHS). The role ensures system integrity, responds to faults, and contributes to continuous improvement in a complex, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the operation and electrical maintenance of Baggage Handling Systems to support continuity of service
• Perform fault finding and carry out both emergency repairs and scheduled maintenance across BHS equipment
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure smooth system performance, including during contingencies
• Provide technical input to resolve complex system issues and support operational decision-making
• Ensure all activities are conducted in line with safety, quality, and environmental requirements
• Support ongoing system reliability through proactive identification of risks and improvement opportunities

Requirements

• Hold an Electrical Trade Qualification with relevant post-trade training or certifications
• Demonstrate experience maintaining and fault finding on conveyor or material handling systems
• Bring working knowledge of SCADA systems and PLCs, with exposure to Siemens S7 and Citect SCADA preferred
• Possess experience working in security-controlled or high-compliance environments (such as airports or similar)
• Apply strong problem-solving skills in operational or maintenance scenarios
• Be able to work at heights and carry out manual handling tasks as part of the role
