About the Role
Weiss Orthodontics | docbraces is seeking a talented Registered Dental Hygienist to join their North York, ON team. This role supports Canadian Orthodontic Partners in delivering personalized orthodontic treatment with a focus on patient care and service experience. Responsibilities
- Provide enthusiastic patient care and support, building personal connections.
- Ensure patients receive optimal hygiene treatment based on clinical findings and goals.
- Help, educate, and improve patients' lives.
- Collect patient dental and medical history.
- Prepare patients for the Orthodontist.
- Prepare patients and equipment for X-rays.
- Take X-rays following safety procedures.
- Examine gums for infections or gum disease.
- Clean patient teeth, including plague removal, polishing, flossing, and brushing.
- Perform bonding and removal of brackets and orthodontic appliances.
- Place and remove arch wires.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and treatment progress.
- Update patient records and examination notes.
- Perform lab duties as instructed.
- Prepare and maintain dental instruments, supplies, and equipment.
- Call patients for aftercare and answer questions.
- Travel to satellite locations as needed.
- Maintain a positive attitude and work cohesively with team members.
- Possess great energy for a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience as a Dental Hygienist is preferred but not required.
- Successful completion of a Dental Hygiene Diploma or Hygiene Degree program.
- Registered and/or licensed by the dental hygiene regulatory authority within province, in good standing.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; written and verbal.
- Ability to make patients feel comfortable and at ease.
- Great time management and organizational skills.
- Experience in an orthodontic office is preferred but not required.
- Current CPR and First Aid training.
