About the Role

The Insights Partner curates, synthesizes, and disseminates relevant research, data, emerging trends, best practices, and thought leadership in Canada and the U.S. to support strategic prioritization, implementation planning, and thought leadership. The role focuses on advancing streamlined, equitable pathways to good work and the recognition of immigrants' skills and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor research, news, programs, initiatives, labor market and workforce data, employer practices, sector signals, and key actors relevant to career pathways and skills, providing analysis and advice to identify trends, developments, and opportunities.
  • Coordinate across U.S. P&P, WES Canada, and Communications to gather and share relevant insights.
  • Conduct research, literature reviews, and environmental scans to inform strategy and implementation, including occupational data, career pathways, job-quality frameworks, pilot evidence, and skills-based labor market policy.
  • Scope and oversee research consultants as needed.
  • Lead knowledge mobilization efforts for Career Pathways and Skills by identifying creative, efficient, and effective ways to disseminate information for internal and external audiences.
  • Create briefs, memos, blog posts, decks, talking points, and thought leadership and learning products in partnership with Communications or narrative shift teams.
  • Translate complex data into clear, accessible products and formats.
  • Maintain a cross-country learning agenda, identifying patterns, synergies, and transferable insights, and fostering a knowledge-sharing culture.
  • Develop and manage a knowledge base, ensuring information is accurate, up-to-date, and easily searchable.
  • Select, organize, implement, and maintain technology platforms (e.g., SharePoint) to house knowledge.
  • Support the team’s “start-up posture” by rapidly synthesizing what’s working and feeding it back into strategy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience in a relevant field.
  • 3-7 years of relevant work experience, with preference for experience in workforce development, immigration, refugee resettlement, or economic development.
  • At least 2-4 years of relevant hands-on research or knowledge management experience.
  • Lived and/or learned insight into the opportunities and challenges experienced by immigrant and refugee communities.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating and working across matrixed teams.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple priorities across teams.
  • Ability to build strong relationships and work with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with people of different backgrounds, experiences, communication styles, and cultures towards collective goals.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Strong strategic judgment and ability to manage tradeoffs.
  • Ability to work within ambiguous, dynamic, and entrepreneurial environments, viewing challenges as opportunities for change.
  • Comfort with risk and failure as a natural part of long-term success.
  • Ability to apply adaptive management approaches and operate with a learning mindset.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills; ability to convey complex information to stakeholders in compelling formats and products using clear language.
  • Exceptional verbal and interpersonal skills, including presentation and facilitation skills in cross-cultural contexts.
  • Confidence presenting and liaising at leadership levels.
  • Strong ability to search, select, and synthesize information, research findings, and program insights in line with strategic objectives and priorities.
  • Ability to motivate colleagues to share knowledge and drive adoption of knowledge-sharing practices.
  • Ability to use evidence to inform decision-making and prioritization.
  • Strong strategic thinking, planning, problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Strong command of technology tools including Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive, and SharePoint).
  • Thrive in an environment that values transparency, collaboration, and a learning orientation.
  • Brings a “can-do” attitude and has a willingness to stretch up and down in their role as needs evolve.
  • Experience using shared systems and platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Monday.com) is desired.
  • Experience with program evaluation is desired.
  • Experience in healthcare or direct care sectors is desired.
