About the Role
This role is within an AmLaw 100 client's energy and climate solutions platform, focusing on tax equity and clean energy financing. You will handle tax-driven energy transactions, including tax equity partnership deals, inverted lease and sale-leaseback structures, equipment safe harbor matters, tax credit transfer transactions, and federal tax credit advice across various renewable energy sectors.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage tax-driven energy transactions from structuring through closing.
- Advise developers, sponsors, and financing parties on tax equity and transferable credit deals.
- Work closely with lawyers across corporate, debt, securitization, and broader project finance teams on sophisticated clean energy matters.
Requirements
- 6+ years of tax equity transactional experience at a national law firm.
- Strong command of partnership flip transactions, inverted leases, sale-leasebacks, safe harbor structures, tax credit transfers, and written federal tax advice.
- Sponsor-side experience is preferred, but investor-side lawyers looking to pivot are also encouraged to apply.
