About the Role
The Advertising Sales Representative will drive revenue by selling media and event opportunities within Simon centers. This role requires strategic thinking, self-motivation, and a deep understanding of the local media landscape to translate client goals into actionable media recommendations.
Responsibilities
- Sell Simon Centers as a Marketing Medium to brands, advertising agencies, and local businesses.
- Serve as the primary media sales person for a group of properties in a specific market.
- Target key companies and categories within the assigned market to sell media, sponsorships, events, and partnership marketing programs.
- Identify, create, sell, and close revenue opportunities through strategic positioning of media assets, sponsorships, programming, and amenities.
- Achieve or exceed personal sales goals and assigned property monthly revenue goals.
- Create compelling client solutions and articulate the benefits of Simon centers.
- Close large single or multi-property advertising, sponsorship, or promotional programs.
- Target, pitch, and develop relationships with companies in key categories.
- Ensure flawless execution for programs.
- Provide monthly forecasting for assigned properties.
- Execute leases and collect client receivables.
- Communicate daily with local property, corporate, and regional leadership teams.
- Act as a brand advocate for properties, clients, business opportunities, and Simon Property Group.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of media sales experience with Simon or 4+ years of experience in media sales, OOH, sponsorships, promotions, and events.
- Compelling sales presentation skills, including formal presentations, cold calling, ‘elevator pitches’ and networking.
- Excellent writing skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Excellent computer skills – Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Salesforce.
- Negotiating and closing skills.
- Sales forecasting and budgeting a plus.
- Some overnight travel required.
