About the Role
Atoms is seeking a Robotics Systems Engineer to lead system-level debugging and end-to-end delivery of autonomy capabilities for real-world vehicle fleets. You will bridge the gap between prototype and reliable production performance by integrating, testing, and deploying features across hardware and software stacks.
Responsibilities
- Develop, integrate, and validate autonomy features including production software, tests, and diagnostics.
- Debug system-level issues across sensors, compute, networking, controls, and vehicle interfaces.
- Lead technical execution for vehicle bring-up and deployments, including planning and risk identification.
- Define and improve diagnostics, validation criteria, and release gates for production readiness.
- Support field and track testing with hands-on vehicle debugging.
- Collaborate with hardware, operations, safety, and product teams to deliver robust autonomy behavior.
- Serve as a technical owner for production readiness and mentor other engineers at senior levels.
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional software development or robotics engineering experience.
- Strong programming skills in C++ and Python.
- Experience designing, building, and debugging maintainable software for real-time or robotics systems.
- Proven experience with system-level ownership including integration, performance tuning, and platform bring-up.
- Ability to diagnose issues across software, hardware, sensors, and autonomy stacks.
- Experience building or using diagnostics such as structured logging, metrics, and fault isolation tools.
- Working familiarity with core robotics concepts like localization, state estimation, planning, and sensor fusion.
- Ability to operate in ambiguous technical environments.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Demonstrated ability to drive technical work through the full lifecycle from planning to deployment.
- Periodic travel to test sites or deployment hubs up to 15%.
- Ability to work onsite five days a week.
