About the Role
ClayDRs (SDRs) are the front line of sales, responsible for converting high-volume demand into qualified pipeline and creating excellent first impressions of Clay. This role is a player-coach position, actively involved in calls, pipeline reviews, and identifying effective strategies. The manager will lead the outbound strategy for Clay and represent the SDR function to sales leadership.
Responsibilities
- Coach in real time by running call reviews, joining live calls, and workshopping messaging.
- Own pipeline generation, including outbound and inbound qualification, pipeline quality, and AE handoffs.
- Represent the ClayDR function to sales leadership, providing visibility into pipeline health, outbound performance, and market insights.
- Develop people by defining performance standards, building progression paths, and investing in individual rep growth.
- Shape Clay's outbound strategy by encouraging creative prospecting using Clay workflows, signals, and enrichment.
- Bring a point of view on modern top-of-funnel strategies.
Requirements
- 5+ years in GTM roles with 2+ years managing SDR/BDR teams.
- Prior experience in a closing role.
- Experience coaching by actively participating in calls, not just reviewing dashboards.
- Credibility with sales leadership, able to discuss pipeline, performance, and market signals effectively.
- Familiarity with modern GTM tooling.
- Curiosity about AI-driven prospecting.
- A builder mentality, eager to shape team operations.
- Enthusiasm for building an in-office ClayDR culture.
