About the Role

Receptionists with On Lok PACE at the Institute on Aging are responsible for triaging incoming telephone calls, program security, and performing clerical and administrative functions to support daily operations. This role is crucial for maintaining the smooth functioning of the program and ensuring a positive experience for clients and visitors.

Responsibilities

  • Answer the main telephone line for the On Lok PACE at IOA program.
  • Direct calls to staff and provide information and assistance to callers.
  • Maintain the lobby area in a neat, uncluttered, and safe manner.
  • Help manage and supervise the arrival and departure of clients and visitors.
  • Receive mail and deliveries, ensuring timely and appropriate handling.
  • Monitor security cameras.
  • Control access to the PACE program by Coronet housing residents.
  • Operate delayed egress alarms.
  • Monitor WanderGuard alerts for clients with wander-risk behaviors.
  • Utilize various digital systems including electronic health records, Excel, Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and Microsoft Word.
  • Assist departments with maintaining reports, records, and forms.
  • Support operational communications and assignments between Van Escorts, the transportation team, Center Workers, the interdisciplinary team, and PACE leadership.
  • Actively participate in and encourage actions that promote good public relations with participants, their families, visitors, and the community.
  • Perform other reasonably related jobs as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school graduate.
  • At least 1-year experience in customer service, clerical, or reception function.
  • One-year of experience with the elderly.
  • Ability to comprehend complex written material and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to communicate and speak clearly in English.
  • Ability to type 50 wpm accurately.
  • Computer literate.
  • Good oral and written English language skills.
  • Flexibility and patience to work in a busy, fast-paced team environment.
