About the Role

The Private Wealth Services group seeks a mid-level associate to advise high-net-worth individuals, families, fiduciaries, and business owners on estate planning, wealth transfer, and related tax matters.

Responsibilities

  • Advise high-net-worth individuals and families on estate and tax planning strategies, including gift, estate, and generation-skipping transfer tax matters.
  • Structure and implement sophisticated estate plans (wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, family limited partnerships, LLCs, etc.).
  • Counsel clients on wealth preservation, business succession planning, and philanthropic planning.
  • Assist with estate and trust administration, including post-mortem tax planning.
  • Work on cross-border and multi-jurisdictional planning matters where applicable.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across corporate, tax, and real estate practices to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Participate in client development and maintain strong client relationships.

Requirements

  • 4–7 years of experience in trusts and estates / private wealth services at an Am Law firm or leading boutique.
  • Strong background in estate planning and wealth transfer strategies for high-net-worth individuals.
  • Experience drafting complex estate planning documents independently.
  • Exposure to estate and trust administration is preferred.
  • Excellent academic credentials and strong writing/analytical skills.
  • Admission to the New York Bar (or ability to waive in).
