About the Role

As the first dedicated Instructional Designer, you will build scalable, high-quality learning experiences for employees and customers by transforming product knowledge and training expertise into engaging content. This hands-on role offers creative ownership and influence over learning at Asure, working across the full design lifecycle from needs analysis to iteration.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end design of learning programs including onboarding, product knowledge, role-specific skills, and manager development.
  • Build engaging eLearning modules, job aids, facilitator guides, assessments, and blended learning experiences.
  • Work directly with subject matter experts to translate role responsibilities, workflows, policies, and product usage into learner-centered training.
  • Apply adult learning principles and instructional design frameworks to all work.
  • Build digital learning content using tools such as Articulate Storyline/Rise, Camtasia, or similar platforms.
  • Incorporate real-world role scenarios and practice opportunities to reinforce learning transfer.
  • Establish and own the authoring tool workflow and content standards.
  • Partner with the LMS admin to ensure content is well-structured, easily navigable, and maintained.
  • Build templates and reusable assets to increase content production efficiency.
  • Partner with HR Business Partners and business leaders to conduct learning needs analysis.
  • Translate business problems into learning solutions and identify when training is not the appropriate solution.
  • Present design proposals and work-in-progress to stakeholders and incorporate feedback.
  • Define success criteria for every program designed.
  • Use learner feedback, completion data, and business outcomes to iterate and improve content.
  • Contribute to building a measurement framework for the L&D function.
  • Maintain and update learning content to reflect evolving processes, systems, and role expectations.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of instructional design experience, ideally in a SaaS, tech, or professional services environment.
  • Proficiency with at least one major authoring tool (Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, or equivalent).
  • Strong grasp of adult learning theory and practical experience applying different design methodologies.
  • Experience conducting learning needs analysis and translating findings into a content plan.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work independently.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A portfolio of work demonstrating range: eLearning, facilitator-led content, job aids, and blended programs.
  • Experience in HR software, HCM, or a similarly complex B2B product environment.
  • Familiarity with LMS administration.
  • Experience building content for both internal audiences and external customers/clients.
  • Some exposure to learning analytics or evaluation frameworks (Kirkpatrick or similar).
