About the Role
The Project Manager, Central Support is a 12-month term position responsible for supporting the operational and cultural integration of new stores and providing project management for a special project. This role coordinates cross-functional integration plans, ensures milestones are met, and facilitates key meetings and communications to ensure efficient execution and business value. This is not a people manager role; leadership is through influence and collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end integration project execution using project management tools like Smartsheet.
- Develop and maintain integration workplans, timelines, and deliverables across business functions.
- Build presentation decks, schedule meetings, record minutes, and follow up on action items for Integration department meetings.
- Plan and build presentation decks for acquisition store kick-off meetings in collaboration with Corporate Development and Integration teams.
- Assist with the development and refinement of single and multi-store project plan structures.
- Track and report on project plans to senior management and ensure cross-functional team accountability for acquisition-related tasks.
- Monitor progress, resolve roadblocks, and report project status to senior leadership.
- Utilize Smartsheet and other project tracking tools for task coordination, progress monitoring, and stakeholder updates.
- Demonstrate initiative, planning, design, prioritization, execution, time management, monitoring, controlling, accountability, and independent work completion in special projects and project management roles.
- Conduct in-depth data analysis for actionable insights on acquisition targets, performance metrics, and integration outcomes.
- Own and execute the integration communication strategy to ensure stakeholder alignment and clarity.
- Plan and coordinate integration town halls and closing meetings, including content development, logistics, and follow-up.
- Act as a liaison between cross-functional teams and acquired locations for consistent messaging and expectations.
- Assist the Director of Integration with communications to regional operations and senior management regarding acquisition store progress and performance.
- Manage all aspects of acquisition inventory counts, including scheduling, developing instructions, and liaising with Finance for valuation.
- Partner with Inventory and Operations teams to ensure accurate transfer and setup of inventory systems.
- Manage, refine, and present acquisition store employee survey results to the Integration department, making recommendations for process improvements.
- Assist the Integration department in identifying process refinements and efficiencies for improved proficiency and volume of change implementation with acquisitions stores.
- Define and optimize key processes for integration success and long-term scalability.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying process gaps and recommending solutions.
- Support the leadership and execution of strategic, centrally led projects, including developing project plans, tracking progress, and coordinating stakeholders.
- Facilitate working group meetings, capture decisions and action items, and provide regular project status updates to senior leadership.
- Proactively identify risks, interdependencies, and issues, escalating as appropriate for timely project delivery.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, or a combination of experience and education in a related field.
- 5 years of experience in a Project Manager or related role.
- Proficient in project management tools and methodologies (Smartsheet).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in Microsoft tools (MS Project, SharePoint, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Experience with SaaS platforms is considered an asset.
- Certification as a Project Manager – CAPM/PMP/Prince2 designation considered an asset.
