About the Role

EPE is seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer with a background in Transmission Planning studies to support its growth strategy. This role involves providing subject matter expertise internally through coaching and externally to clients, contributing to the design of the Grid of the future.

Responsibilities

  • Perform high-level bulk power system studies using PSS/E, PSCAD, Aspen, and TARA.
  • Lead and mentor engineers in power system steady state, short circuit, and dynamic & transient stability analyses.
  • Conduct advanced studies like Sub-synchronous Resonance.
  • Ensure timely project completion within quality and budget objectives.
  • Interact with clients to gather input and address concerns.
  • Develop mitigation plans for identified constraints and issues.
  • Review and develop transmission planning study methodologies and processes.
  • Lead process improvement efforts.
  • Support business development activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Electric Engineering, with a power systems emphasis preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Power Systems Engineer performing power system impact studies (Dynamic Stability, Load Flow, Steady State, Short Circuit).
  • Experience with power systems software (PSS/E, PSCAD, Aspen, TARA).
  • Proven team player skills with ability to build and maintain relationships.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks.
  • Flexible with the ability to manage change.
  • High standards for producing quality reports and products.
  • Strong technical/report writing skills.
