Responsibilities

  • Recommends work standards by studying operational requirements, utilizing work-measurement techniques, and applying standard measurements and time study principles in conjunction with Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Investigates, recommends, prepares, and co-ordinates amendment requests to the master maintenance schedule, ensuring the integrity of technical details and executing corrections/revisions/updates as required.
  • Serves as a member of the PEG and RCM committees, providing guidance and assurance that Alstom’s best interests are reflected in maintenance changes related to task completion time.
  • Updates the Master Maintenance Schedule as required.
  • Maintains maintenance process documents for scheduled maintenance activities of repairs and testing procedures.
  • Provides optimum labor hour estimates for special projects based on Engineering Instructions and prototype.
  • Creates sequential detailed job plans with tasks and material pick lists for special projects and other job types.
  • Monitors equipment maintenance schedules and advises Planners of workload or maintenance changes to allow for balancing of equipment train cycles.
  • Validates work order durations against optimal times estimates in the maintenance manual.

Requirements

  • University or College degree or certification is an asset.
  • 5 years of experience required.
  • Sound understanding of basic industrial engineering principles as they relate to work study, process analysis, and resource planning.
  • Familiarization with rolling stock equipment is a strong asset.
  • Project management skills are an asset.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office package.
  • Basic knowledge of database software (MS Access, Maximo) is a plus.
  • Good English, reading, writing, and speaking skills required.
  • Limited travel as required for operational needs.
